How to use, inspect, and care for Lumiere Pet pieces with a pet's comfort and safety first. Last updated 19 July 2026.
Decorative collars are for brief, supervised styling and portrait moments. They are not walking collars, breakaway safety collars, harnesses, restraint devices, identification collars, medical devices, or toys. Never attach a lead to a decorative collar. Remove it for sleep, rough play, crate time, water, unsupervised time, or whenever it could snag.
Measure and fit each accessory to the individual pet. For a decorative collar, allow two flat fingers between the piece and the neck. Check that beads, bows, closures, and straps sit away from the throat, jaw, and front legs. Stop use immediately if the pet freezes, paws persistently at the piece, shows irritation, or cannot move normally.
Garment measurements are guidance only. Measure while the pet is standing, use chest measurement first, and choose the larger size when between measurements or layering over a fuller coat. Check shoulder movement, breathing, toileting clearance, and temperature comfort. Remove a garment if it pulls, twists, overheats, gets wet, or restricts movement.
Play objects are for active adult supervision. They are not indestructible or suitable for every pet. Inspect seams, fill, squeakers, cords, feathers, small parts, and surfaces before and after each use. Remove and replace any item that is torn, punctured, loose, heavily chewed, cracked, or small enough to swallow. Do not leave interactive toys, cords, feathers, treats, or fabric objects with an unattended pet.
Cases, pouches, mats, bowls, and grooming organizers are not toys unless the product page expressly says otherwise. Keep non-food objects out of reach of pets that chew or ingest items. Use bowls only after confirming the final production label states the intended food or water contact guidance.
Material appearance can vary with lighting, wear, and screen settings. Check the product page and final item label for material information. If your pet has known skin sensitivities, allergies, respiratory concerns, or a history of ingesting non-food items, consult a qualified veterinarian before introducing a new accessory, garment, or play object.
If a component breaks, is swallowed, becomes caught, or your pet appears distressed, remove the item if it is safe to do so and seek veterinary advice promptly.
